The CDMQ merges with the A2C

Montreal, September 16, 2021 – The Conseil des directeurs médias du Québec (CDMQ) is merging with the Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C) to create Le Comité permanent des directeurs média. It will be formed by six to seven media directors who will be elected every year. Their duty will be to oversee the challenges and projects specific to this industry.

In light of the success of the pilot project to establish closer ties between both organizations, members of the CDMQ voted in favour of this decision. After combining forces, both organizations will continue to raise awareness about the media industry and advocate for the interests of agencies.

“This decision will allow us to reinforce our presence, increase our efforts to reach out to various stakeholders in our common ecosystem, and showcase the media industry through various ongoing and upcoming initiatives. We will continue to leverage our expertise with the support of the A2C team. We want to take this opportunity to thank all our members, past and present, for their contribution over the past few years,” said Véronik L’Heureux, President of the CDMQ.

“This partnership comes naturally to both organizations. Subjects of interest were already part of our discussions, and our collaboration has allowed us to launch projects more quickly. The permanent committee will ensure the presence of a powerful voice as we work towards our goals, such as those outlined in the Mouvement média d’ici, and pursue our advocacy efforts to showcase the media industry. It is a solid win for the entire industry,” said Louis Duchesne, Board Chair of the A2C.

The CDMQ executive committee will continue its work until the election of a new committee this fall.

Since its creation in 1987, the CDMQ has raised awareness about the role of media in agencies through myriad initiatives and stances. The A2C wants to thank media directors for the work accomplished over these past few years.
