Membership criteria

Find out if your agency is eligible :
  • Be an enterprise working entirely as an agency in the communications industry;
  • Have an office in Quebec province;
  • Be a solvent business;
  • Be in business for a minimum of 2 years (Qc);
  • Must provide these three (3) basic services: design and development, strategic planning and advisory service;
  • Must offer at least one of these complementary services:

- Graphic design and production;
- Events and sponsorships;
- Management of databases;
- Social media;
- Interactive marketing;
- Relationship marketing;
- Mobility;
- Planning and / or media buying;
- Promotion;
- Internet production
- Print production;
- Electronic production;
- Point of sale advertising
- Business research;
- Public relations;
- Digital services;

 

  • Have a minimum of three (3) client-advertisers (generating most of the agency’s income);
  • Have a minimum gross annual income of $ 500,000;
  • Employ a minimum of five (5) full-time employees;
  • Always comply with the Code of ethics and the Quality Standards as well as any collective agreement negotiated by the corporation under the Status of the Artist Act.

All agencies whose employee(s) are DESSCM students also benefit from a $500 discount per student on the annual renewal of their membership over $1,000.

Membership application

In order to represent the highest standards of the industry, the A2C asks that agencies that wish to become a member fill out a detailed application form. In addition to general information about your agency, you’ll have to provide the following documents:

 

  • Letter from your accountant/auditor certifying your agency’s gross earnings
  • Attestation from Revenu Québec delivered in the 90 days prior to the submission of you membership application
  • Letter describing your motivations and the objectives of your membership in relationship to your business objectives
  • Letter of recommendation from an executive of an A2C member agency or from a renowned individual in the communications and marketing industry

You’ll also have to commit to adhering to the A2C's Agency Selection Guide, Standards of Quality, Code of Ethics, INM Collective Agreement and TV/Radio Collective Agreement.

 

Please expect a two-month waiting period between the reception of your application and the decision whether to admit you as a member. Your application will be studied by our executive committee who will then make their recommendation to our Board of directors.
