Collective Agreements

Collective agreement between the Joint Producers Association (APC) and the Union des artistes (UDA) for the production of advertising.

The APC is composed of the Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C), the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) and the Institute of Canadian Agencies (ICA).

When do the APC-UDA collective agreements apply?

In accordance with the Act respecting the professional status and conditions of engagement of performing, recording and film artists, the collective agreements between the APC and the UDA apply to performers and producers who retain their professional services in the artistic production field of commercial recording. They provide for minimum conditions of employment for performers whose services are retained by a related producer to perform one of the functions provided for in the agreements for the production of commercials. The TV/radio agreement applies more specifically to the production of commercials initially produced for broadcast on French-language television or radio. The INM agreement applies to the production of video or audio advertising initially produced for use (media buy required) on the Internet and new media. Not to be confused with the Xn Québec – UDA agreement, which sets out the minimum conditions for hiring artists for the production of multimedia commissioned works (e.g. corporate or institutional video).
