Register Your Little Treasures : Launch of the 4th Edition of the Idéa Awards

Montreal, December 5, 2022 – The Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C), in collaboration with the Société des designers graphiques du Québec (SDGQ), is launching the 4th edition of Idéa, the only contest dedicated to creative communications in Quebec. Agencies, studios, production companies, artisans and advertisers will have until February 24, 2023, to submit their pet projects of the past year.

149 categories, all disciplines combined, are ready to welcome your best initiatives. Select the most relevant ones by consulting the definitions in the Guide du soumissionnaire. Also, starting December 12, attend our free webinars to learn more about the submission platform, updates to the categories, evaluation grids, and questions for submitters, and writing tips to improve your Media and Business Results and Strategy case studies. Check out the full programme here.

Ready to get started? Log on to our submission platform now. Keep an eye out: the composition of the juries for each discipline will be announced at the end of January.

In addition, we invite you to visit our “News” section, an addition to the Idéa Competition website that will allow you to stay informed throughout the different phases of the initiative. To make sure you don’t miss out on anything, sign up for our Idéa newsletter to receive occasional mailings on key moments of the adventure.

“Several brands chose to make bold moves in order to stand out from the crowd and make their mark in the current context, thus pushing emerging talents and seasoned professionals to surpass themselves in order to spark the collective imagination. The Idéa Awards highlights these projects, and we look forward to recognizing these exceptional achievements that demonstrate the vitality of our industry,” says Dominique Villeneuve, President and CEO, A2C.

“This is the time of year when we bring our work together to take measure of the graphic design industry in Quebec. Designers and agencies, come forward! Let’s have the courage to compare and criticize each other, to showcase the best communications and the most daring and surprising creations of our local designers. We look forward to seeing you,” Julie Royer, co-president, SDGQ, lecturer, École de design de l’Université Laval, professor, Cégep du Vieux Montréal and Mario Mercier, DGA, co-president, SDGQ, president, creative director, Compagnie et cie.

Cradled with pride

It is Les Évadés agency that answered the call this year for the Idéa 2023 promotional campaign. Inspired by the idea of the birth of projects and the love of their creators for them, the team has developed a playful concept, the first signs of which are already very evocative. It is indeed under the theme of parental pride that participants will entrust the juries with their “little treasures”; the projects they have imagined, carried, and seen grow throughout the year.

“In the communications industry, there are many constraints, but also a lot of love… These projects are small, but they want to live! Parents’ pride is legitimate and that’s what we want to celebrate with this campaign,” says Charles Gagnon, Creative Director, Les Évadés.

The Idéa Awards is powered by the A2C, in collaboration with the SDGQ. Thanks to our main partners – Québecor Expertise Média, La Presse, CBC & Radio-Canada Solutions Média and Bell Média – as well as our collaborators – LJT Avocats, TV5 and Unis TV, Le Devoir, URBANIA, Grenier aux nouvelles and le bec.
