A focus on excellence: IDEA 2024 CALL FOR ENTRIES OPENS

The Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C), in collaboration with the Société des designers graphiques du Québec (SDGQ), kicks off the 5th edition of the Idea Awards with the launch of its call for entries. Agencies, studios, production companies, artisans and advertisers will have until February 24, 2024, to submit their heartfelt projects of the past year.

Inspired by the most prestigious national and international competitions, the Idea Awards  showcases the work of professionals in the six major disciplines of creative communications : Craft/Production, Creative Advertising, Design, Media, Product and Digital Experiences and Business Results and Strategy. This year, 144 categories are ready to welcome their best initiatives. They can choose the most relevant ones by consulting the Guide du soumissionnaire, and make sure their entries are well positioned by taking part in the free preparatory webinars.

Participants can now log on to the entry platform. The Idéa newsletter and the “News” section of the official website are still the best way to keep abreast of events over the coming months. Jury chairmen and chairwomen will be announced after the holiday season, and jury members by mid-February.

“As we embark on this new edition of the Idea Awards, we are witnessing a flourishing industry where boldness and creativity continue to take the center stage. Brands have once again demonstrated their remarkable ability to stand out in a constantly evolving environment, fostering the emergence of new talent and the excellence of seasoned professionals. Idea is a great opportunity to shine the spotlight on these inspiring projects, and we look forward to celebrating these successes, which are a testament to the vitality of our industry.”, commented Dominique Villeneuve, president and CEO, A2C.

“Dear graphic designers: once again this year, it’s time to submit our best creations for the Idea Awards, the works for which we believe we’ve made a difference through their creativity and boldness, but above all, the level of thought that has gone into them. Graphic design is not a beauty contest, but rather a contest of intelligence. Our discipline helps clients achieve their marketing objectives year after year, and without our relevance, it wouldn’t be possible. So, once again, let’s compare ourselves as a family and celebrate what the industry does best!” said SDGQ co-presidents Julie Royer, Lecturer, École de design de l’Université Laval and Professor, Cégep du Vieux Montréal, and Mario Mercier, DGA, President and Creative Director, Compagnie et cie.

A focus on excellence

Compagnie et cie, the agency behind the name and visual identity of the Idéa awards in 2019, was mandated to update its brand platform. “The objective was to ensure continuity and cohesion from one edition to the next, but also to stimulate the covetousness and pride of industry professionals in winning an Idéa trophy,” explains Simon Rufiange, partner and creative director at Compagnie et cie. The blue accent of the competition logo will also be used in the various executions that will punctuate the different phases of the competition.
